Foundation One / Beginners (10 Week Course)

Designed for those with absolutely no previous dance experience or for those with some previous beginner training who want a refresher. You’ll learn a wide range of the foundational Egyptian style Bellydance movements and steps as well as how to coordinate your arms and hands. You'll learn the basics of shimmies and undulations and how to isolate your lower and upper body. The classes build on the technique and skills taught week to week. We suggest students remain at this level until they have mastered all the basics and have a strong foundation. Click here to register.

Foundation Two / Beginners ll (10 Week Course)
Once you've mastered the beginner level step vocabulary get ready for more challenge in our Foundation Two course where we go beyond the basics and help you refine your technique, build your musicality and work on smooth, seamless transitions. Students will learn a short routine in the last few weeks of the session.

Bridge to Intermediate with Joharah (10 Week Course)

This class moves beyond the basic Foundation and is designed for those ready to elevate their skills and work towards the Intermediate level. We focus on refining your technique, developing your musicality and broadening your movement vocabulary even more. Emphasis will be placed on transitions and how to connect one movement to another in order to become a fluid, seamless, dynamic dancer. This Fall a choreography will be included with a performance opportunity for interested students to perform the routine together. Click here to register. Master Class Technique & Artistry with Joharah (10 Week Course)
This course is designed for students from Continuing Beginner, Intermediate to Advanced looking to elevate their technique, musicality and artistry in ways we've yet to explore. Whether you are interested in performing or just want to bring out the best YOU in your dance, our Master Class is the perfect way to put you on an exciting, empowering trajectory. The class is designed to meet you wherever you're at in your own dance journey. The course will have a wide range of topics covered. Some topics will extend over two weeks. Most of all, the course is about building a strong dancer mindset, building confidence, expressing creativity, connecting with others and being part of a nurturing environment fully focused on seeing you grow as a dance artist. Pair the Master Class with one of our session's choreography classes and you'll have lots of opportunity for real-time application of all the things we'll be covering.

Intermediate to Advanced Technique & Choreography Course with Joharah

Classes at this level are fast paced and diverse, full of accents, shimmies, intricate combinations, travelling steps, arabesques and turns. Musicality and musical interpretation, tempo and timing, quality of movement, and total body awareness is emphasized. Both Raqs Sharqi and Baladi styling is taught. The Fall Course includes at least one choreography which students can perform together as a group at a show held end of session.
